Spanning 147 acres and bounded on three sides by the Mahaweli River, it houses over 4,000 species of tropical flora, towering palm avenues, giant Javan fig trees, and an exquisite orchid house.

Next, visit a traditional Ceylon Gem Museum & Lapidary to understand why Sri Lanka is famed as the "Island of Gems" (Ratna Dweepa), discovering how exquisite Ceylon blue sapphires and rubies are mined and cut.
